Pontiac introduced its limited edition Solstice on "The Apprentice." When the episode ended, viewers were pointed to Yahoo! for additional information about the vehicle. Pontiac's goal was to sell 1,000 cars in 10 days.

Anyone who thinks that troubled General Motors (GM) can't still come up with exciting, inexpensive new models should check out the Pontiac Solstice, which starts at a mere $19,995. There's just one problem: Getting your hands on one. Within 10 days of the car's appearance on NBC's The Apprentice, eager buyers had placed early orders for 7,116 Solstices. Hot Solstice Selling $6,000 Over Sticker - Edmonds.com Article
DETROIT — The new 2006 Solstice roadster is commanding as much as $6,000 over sticker price on AutoTrader.com, eBay and at dealerships, making it the hottest Pontiac in recent memory. 
As of September 19, AutoTrader.com reported that the highest price for a Solstice was $26,500, while the average price was $23,998. The Web site said the lowest price for a Solstice was $22,795. The Solstice starts at $19,995 and rises to $24,700 for a fully loaded model.

These were the basic inspirations set down by Bob Lutz, GM’s chairman of North American Operations, in creating a "sketch-off" for the first concept vehicle commissioned by GM’s new product chief.
